Our Groups

We started based on the USA diet and are mostly administrated by USA based people. So much of our information is USA based and biased. If you live outside the USA, we have groups for you (see the "Sister Groups" list at the end of this post), your experience may vary from our main group and your products will vary in ingredients, even for the same named products. Every country has their own regulations and laws that foods must meet and this affects which ingredients are in a product from country to country.

Our Main Group can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/cornallergy/

Our Topical Groups:

Corn Allergy Social Club - A Coping Group:
Originally started as a way to keep us from losing our minds during Covid, this group has become our social hub for sharing memes, jokes, fun, stories, and off-topic entertainment and resources. No medical discussions or allergy discussions allowed. Just fun, social, and helpful. https://www.facebook.com/groups/cornallergypandemonium
SHOP - Corn Allergy & Intolerance Shop

This is the ONLY place to SELL items to members. It is at your own risk. Food and Baked items cannot be sold due to differences in state laws and FDA/USDA regulations unless you have your own bakery/food business. Thank you. https://www.facebook.com/groups/cornallergyshop/

Farming & Gardening - Corn Allergy & Intolerance:
This group is to discuss corn-free gardening tips and farming tips. This is not a group to discuss safe foods, products, or medical questions. Members must be members of this group to join. https://www.facebook.com/groups/farmingcornallergy/
Parenting Corn Allergic Kids group:
This group is for parents of corn allergic kids to discuss parenting tips and child-specific items. This is a topical group for topics that ONLY affect children and is not meant to replace the main group. Questions about allergies and products that are not or may not be only used by children are required to be asked in the main group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/cornallergyparents/
Mast Cell, MCAD, & Corn Allergies:
Members must also have been members of the main group for at least 6 months before joining this group. It is expected that all members here have at least a cursory understanding of what is a corn allergy and what needs to be avoided. This group is to focus on Mast Cell issues and how corn allergies may play a part in that. https://www.facebook.com/groups/cornallergyMCAD/
OMG MTHFR Group:
This group is for the discussion of genetic data and related conditions such as MTHFR. This group is not limited to only corn allergics and so not quite a related group, but many of this group are in there so you can get advice from others living with similar issues. Membership in the Corn Allergy & Intolerance group is not required in order to join this group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/OMGMTHFR
Diabetes & MCAD or Food Allergies:
This group is for the discussion of Diabetes from the perspective of those with allergic reactions (mast cell degranulation) as they can greatly affect each other and limit solutions. This group is not limited to those allergic or reactive to corn. Membership in the Corn Allergy & Intolerance group is not required in order to join this group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/MCADdiabetes/
Corn-Free Weight Loss Group:
This group is for members seeking healthy weight loss while living a corn-free life, and is limited to discussing weight loss and exercise tips. You must be a member of the main group for at least 6 months before joining as a certain level of corn-free knowledge is needed to help others in this kind of journey. https://www.facebook.com/groups/cornfreeweightloss/
Dating with Corn Allergy & Intolerance:
This group is not for the discussion of any product safety of any kind. It is solely a support group for our single members on how to approach dating and the snags around food allergies. Membership in the main group is required. https://www.facebook.com/groups/cornallergydating/

Our Friends & Family ONLY support group: (Defunct)
This group is a support group for those affected by our allergies. It is for them to have other people in their situation to talk to, compare tips, and learn more about avoiding corn in ways that help. The group has experienced members, most of which themselves are not allergic, to help guide your loved ones along a supportive journey. This group has a "don't share personal details outside the group" clause for your and their protection. Please share this link with your family and friends: https://www.facebook.com/groups/738534756292724
You MUST name your family/friends in this thread for them to be added: https://www.facebook.com/groups/cornallergy/permalink/10153607667632420/

Regional Groups:

The purpose of Regional Groups is to give regions the ability to get more familiar with people in their area, set up events, share information about products/services only available in their area.
These groups should run like a family and be supportive, but for the sake of the whole ("United we stand") these groups shouldn't expect to take the place of the large group. There are more resources of information and support in the large group for worldwide or nationwide products, and sharing with everyone is key for all of us. We would not even be here if it weren't for that small philosophy.

"Approved" groups give a stamp of approval so you can know that the group will have the same or similar high standards of conduct and information, as well as the same feel of love and support. Only one group per area will be approved and considered "authorized" by this group.
If you would like to form a local group, and have it recommended here, you must contact Yvonne Young for approval and procedures. Do not create a regional group without approval. Thanks.
